  1. For VMware environments, the communication method and data transfer to storages available in the Xopero ONE system are crucial. To use fast transport methods such as HotAdd, you need to deploy a virtual appliance. Otherwise, if local devices act as VMware backup workers, the backup data will be transferred over the LAN—first to the worker and then to the storages—which significantly increases the transfer time.

  2. VMware backups are created using system snapshots (for supported systems, this process is application-aware); additionally, VMware Tools must be installed.
