Changed Block Tracking tool returns to Xopero the difference between the perform of full, differential, and incremental copy. VMware CBT is a tool, that is provided by VMware. Xopero ONE uses it by default, but if it is not available, or for some reason, you do not want to use it, you can enable Xopero ONE classic method. In that case, Xopero ONE agent is responsible to calculate the differences between differential and incremental copy executions.

It is good practice to use Xopero ONE Virtual Appliance. In the case, that you want to use Xopero ONE classic method, the agent installed in Virtual Appliance will be used to calculate the changes.

The method used to calculate the changes is available to choose from the drop-down list:

If VMware CBT is chosen, you can configure two more checkboxes:

  • Enable Changle Blocks Tracking in VMware for all virtual machines selected to backup - if this checkbox is enabled, CBT will be used for all protected virtual machines.

  • Reset CBT every full copy - if this checkbox is enabled, CBT will be reset every full copy execution. Due to the fact, that CBT leaves flags on the point, where the last change was done, you can reset these flags using this checkbox.
