Password Manager
Overview
In general, all passwords, encryption keys, and other secrets are stored in the Password Manager—a secure tool within Xopero ONE Management Service (XMS)—which uses the AES algorithm for encryption.
When you update your secrets in Password Manager, they are automatically updated in every place where Xopero ONE uses them. This allows you to easily replace all passwords, for example, those used for your storages.
For security reasons, your devices do not have continuous access to secrets (storage login, password, etc.). They retrieve the required credentials only when needed—for example, at the beginning of a backup or restore task. Afterward, the secrets are removed, ensuring no continuous connection between the device and the storage.
Adding a new password/encryption key
In XMS, click Settings at the bottom of the left-hand menu, then select Password Manager.

Click the Add new > button, then select Password or Encryption Key.

Enter a custom name for the password or encryption key in the Name field.

Enter your password and confirm it.

Add an optional comment in the Description field if needed.

Once all required fields are filled, click the Save button.
Your password has now been added to the Password Manager, and you can start using it.

Editing an existing password
It is not possible to edit an already existing encryption key. The encryption key serves as a security measure for backups and it's used to encrypt data with a dedicated algorithm— if the key is modified, the data becomes unrecoverable.
In XMS, click Settings at the bottom of the left-hand menu, then select Password Manager.

Select the password you want to edit, and click the Edit password icon.

Enter a new password and confirm it, then click Save.

Your password is now successfully updated.
