## License types <a href="#license_types_from_a_business_point_of_view" id="license_types_from_a_business_point_of_view"></a>

### <mark style="background-color:blue;">Physical machines</mark> <a href="#physical_machines" id="physical_machines"></a>

1. **Endpoint Agent** — licenses for securing physical endpoints: **Windows**, **Linux**, **Mac**. One license is required per endpoint.
2. **Server Agent** — licenses for securing servers (**Windows**, **Linux**), databases (**Oracle**, **MySQL**, **Microsoft SQL**, **PostgreSQL**, etc.), and **NAS**. One license is required per protected resource.

### <mark style="background-color:blue;">Virtual machines</mark> <a href="#virtual_machines" id="virtual_machines"></a>

1. **Virtual Agent per VM** — licenses for securing virtual machines based on the number of protected VMs. Particularly beneficial when aiming to safeguard specific files, such as databases or other forms of critical organizational data. This allows you to secure systems directly from within the guest OS, making it an ideal solution for environments not natively supported at the host level, such as **Proxmox**, **Xen**, **KVM**, or **Nutanix**.

{% hint style="success" %}
If you need to secure any other virtualization (not supported natively by **Xopero ONE**), you can still secure virtual machines directly from inside the virtual machine (guest OS).
{% endhint %}

2. **VMware**/**Hyper-V** **per socket** — licenses sold per CPU socket; allows for the backup of an unlimited number of machines from the host level. All CPU sockets are counted, regardless of whether they are populated.. Consequently, it is necessary to include both occupied and unoccupied sockets in the total count.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If your environment is clustered, you need a license <mark style="color:red;">**for every individual host per socket**</mark>.
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="background-color:blue;">Microsoft 365</mark> <a href="#microsoft_365" id="microsoft_365"></a>

1. **Microsoft 365** — protection for **Microsoft 365** data; assigned based on the number of **Microsoft 365** user accounts.

### <mark style="background-color:blue;">Git platforms</mark> <a href="#git_platforms" id="git_platforms"></a>

Licenses for protecting Git repositories (**GitHub**, **GitLab**, **Bitbucket**, **Azure** **DevOps**), assigned based on the number of repositories.

1. **On-premise enterprise** — license type that allows you to backup all on-prem installed systems in your entire company.
2. **Cloud enterprise** — license type that allows you to backup all cloud hosted systems in your entire company.
3. **Cloud pro** — license type that allows you to backup your whole organization— it's dedicated for individuals, startups, and small teams.

{% hint style="info" %}
There is no need to assign a license to all repositories. The license is assigned only to the repositories that are to be protected.
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="background-color:blue;">Jira</mark>

1. **Jira** — protection for **Jira Cloud instances**, assigned based on the number of users (the license must cover all users in the protected **Jira** instance).

## Additional license types <a href="#license_types_in_xopero_one_management_console" id="license_types_in_xopero_one_management_console"></a>

In addition to standard licenses, **Xopero ONE** provides supplementary, worker licenses. These licenses are used to initiate specific operations and processes within the software, depending on the required use case or deployment scenario and must be assigned to an installed agent.

1. **Local worker/cloud worker/feature worker** — free license that allows you to perform various operations, i.e., manage storage, restore your backups, and backup your resources locally (when combined with a dedicated **Microsoft 365**/**Git**/**Jira** license).

{% hint style="warning" %}
Workers are used for process management and data restoration (e.g., restoring cloud platform data). A device with only a worker license <mark style="color:red;">**cannot perform a backup of its own local resources**</mark>.
{% endhint %}
