Installing GitProtect worker

Installing a worker in your local environment may be crucial and required in many cases. The backup agent is the only system component that has direct contact with data during data transmission to the data storage.
According to the licensing policy, a worker license is the free license type assigned per agent - feature worker. The only difference between Server / Endpoint agent and Feature worker license is that a Feature worker licensed device cannot back up its own data. It can only be a "worker" while securing other data.

Therefore, using a local worker can help you meet your internal restrictions and policies so that data does not pass through external services. Additionally, it can allow you to perform a backup directly to resources in your local infrastructure. To which, for obvious reasons, the SaaS agent (Cloud worker) does not have access.
To download the worker's installer, go to the Settings tab. Then select Advanced and Workers. There you click the Download agent button and download installer for correct operation system.
After downloading the installer, install the agent on the device. You can use the installation instructions for the appropriate types of operating systems related to GitProtect (in the manual, skip the installer download process).
