# Groups

In **Xopero ONE**, you can create groups and assign devices to them. Groups help you identify devices within your infrastructure and organize them according to the hierarchy of your company.

## Creating a group

Open **Devices** tab in **Xopero ONE Management Service** (**XMS**) console. You won't see the **Groups** menu in the default view—you must change it to list view.

If the **Groups** menu does not appear in the list view, select one or more devices to make it visible.

Enter a custom name for the group and click **Add group** button at the bottom of the panel or press **Enter**.

## Adding devices to a group

## Device group check

To check which group a device belongs to, click the **Device details** <img src="https://319733277-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F0CBTl43C3OO6ySL1DJ6k%2Fuploads%2F2CLwFrMrC8CwQ2HdWQaP%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=04b7e160-d36a-4bf3-bf02-de80cd7ebb82" alt="" data-size="line"> button on the right and scroll down to the **Groups** section.

💡 You can also customize your list dashboard view to display the device group name by default.

## Group details

Next to the group name is the **Group details** icon:

In group details, you will find information about devices assigned to a group and their statuses, group's storage usage and group's assigned plans.

## Plan assignment

Additionally, in the group details panel, you can create plans and assign them to specific groups. The plan will be executed on all devices in the group, including both existing devices and any that are added in the future.

When you activate a device and add it to a group, it will be automatically included in the group’s backup plan.
