Xopero ONE 2.0.0
🆕 NEW FEATURES
2FA
We have introduced two-factor authentication (2FA) in Xopero ONE and GitProtect to enhance platform security and implement modern authentication practices. Users can now log in using a one-time code generated by apps like Google Authenticator in addition to their password.
Currently, 2FA is available for password-based logins; SSO support will be added in a future release.
Apple M series processor support
To meet growing demand for Apple devices with M1/M2 processors, version 2.0.0 introduces full compatibility with Apple Silicon. This ensures seamless operation of our agents on ARM-based Mac systems.
Login support from the MSP level
We have added foundational support for direct MSP partner access to customer environments, configurable as full or read-only access. This feature will become visible once the Xopero ONE MSP update is officially released. By default, access is disabled.
🔨 IMPROVEMENTS
Deduplication optimization
Major improvements have been made to the deduplication engine for disk image and VMware backup workflows. These changes significantly reduce scanning overhead and improve comparison speed.
The deduplication data format has been updated. After upgrading, performing a deduplication cleanup is recommended. Further performance enhancements are planned for version 2.0.5.
Changes to defining the foreground for a resource
To streamline onboarding, the first step of backup plan configuration has been updated:
Information about the worker in the task summary
Task summaries, such as for Microsoft 365 and Git, now show which worker device executed each task, providing clarity in multi-agent environments.
Optimization of task handling
The backend has been significantly optimized to handle simultaneous backup tasks across multiple environments, improving performance in large and dynamic infrastructures.
Microsoft 365 message preview log
Info-level logs have been added for each message previewed during restore, enhancing auditability without affecting existing functionality.
Additional logs for SMB
Introduced detailed DEBUG-level logs for SMB restores, including:
These additions provide deeper insight into the restore process and support advanced troubleshooting.
Remote agent update
Checksum handling now supports configurable validity periods — 15 minutes for SaaS and 45 minutes for on-prem. It also includes remote update support for DMZ devices, removing the need for manual checksum generation.
Cache support for iSCSI
Performance during disk image backup and VMware instant restore has been improved with read caching for iSCSI, resulting in faster and more efficient operations.
NotConnected status improvements for tasks
We’ve improved the behavior of tasks marked as NotConnected, including:
Increased limit of parallel SaaS tasks
Introduced an internal environment variable that allows adjusting parallel task limits for SaaS backups — providing greater flexibility when operating in large environments.
🐛 BUGFIXES
No copy on target storage after replication
Ensures that target storage correctly displays backup data after replication completes.
Remote update for WS2008 and 2012
Improved clarity with an informative message explaining platform limitations — remote updates remain unsupported.
Replication ignores schedule window
Replication now respects the defined time windows for execution.
SLA statistics reset
Settings are now preserved after deleting plans or restarting services.
Manually running a plan with a backup window
Manual task executions now function correctly when run outside backup windows, following user confirmation.
