This article outlines the process of adding, managing, and working with your Hyper-V server in Xopero ONE. It covers how to backup Hyper-V virtual machines, leveraging the full suite of advanced Hyper-V features along with additional options to ensure your data remains safe and consistent.
In the Xopero ONE environment, the minimum required version of the Hyper-V server for integration is Windows Server 2016 Hyper-V. Integration of a Hyper-V server mandates a Hyper-V per-socket license, the necessity of which is contingent upon the server's processor count. For example, a server outfitted with two processors will require two corresponding licenses.
To add your Hyper-V server to the Xopero ONE, navigate to the virtual machines section found in the sidebar. Select Hyper-V to prompt the appearance of a sidebar equipped with a specialised Agent dedicated to Hyper-V support.
After completing the installation, the device will appear in the upper right corner to activate it. After adding the device, it will appear in the devices tab, ready to be utilized for the safeguarding of physical hardware. The next step involves connecting it with the Hyper-V server. In the Virtual Machines tab, click "Add new," select your device, and then click "save."
Specify the frequency at which the Hyper-V server should refresh.
Having completed these steps, you're now ready to devise your backup strategy for Hyper-V, with the server accessible in the virtual machines section.
When integrating a Hyper-V Cluster with Xopero ONE, the procedure mirrors that of incorporating an individual host, albeit with a crucial variance. It is imperative that the Agent is deployed across every host constituting the cluster to ensure seamless integration. During the addition phase, ensure to select every machine within the cluster to be encompassed in the setup. Subsequently, it's necessary to input the Cluster Administrator’s login credentials.
In the first field, we provide the IP address or the name of the cluster. Next, we need to enter the name of the cluster administrator and create a new password in our secure password manager. After assigning this password, we can proceed to save it, which will result in the addition of the Hyper-V cluster to Xopero ONE.
