Create a new organizational unit in the Active Directory Users and Computers window on the domain controller.
Give a name to the newly created organizational unit and confirm with OK
Transfer the computers to be included in the installation of the Xopero ONE agent to the newly created organizational unit
Create a folder that will be available on the network by all computers that are to be covered by the installation policy of the Xopero ONE agent and place the .msi installer in it.
Important! The .msi installer is available for downloading in the Management Service, in the "add a device" tab.
Share the folder created in the previous step. To do this, right-click the folder and select Properties, then go to the Sharing tab and click the Advanced Sharing button.
In the window that appears, click the OK button
Go to the Permissions tab and set the rights to the folder for specific users who will be able to use the contents of this folder. For Domain Admins - full control For Authenticated Users - read
Go to the GPO (Group Policy Management) window, find the OU created in step 1 and right-click the context menu, and select the "Create a GPO in this domain and Link it here..." option.
In the newly opened window, give a name for the new group object.
After creating a rule, go to edit it.
Expand the tabs Computer Configuration -> Policies -> Software Settings -> Software Installation, then in the right part of the window, right-click and select New -> Package.
Go to the shared directory where the Xopero ONE agent .msi installer has been placed and confirm the installer selected with the Open button.
Select an advanced deployment method and confirm this choice with the OK button.
After confirming with the OK button, go to the Modifications tab.
At this point, it is necessary to create a .mst file containing additional configuration for the .msi installer including the address of the management console. To create the .mst file you can use Orca software available as part of the Windows SDK.
Important! Orca software can be downloaded from the website
After starting Orca, select File -> Open and select the .msi installer of the Xopero ONE agent.
Then select Transform -> New Transform from the menu. Find the Property table and edit the MANAGEMENT_URL row by double-clicking on it with the left mouse button. Change its value to the address of the management console.
Additional parameters that can be edited are:
APPDIR - the path where the Xopero ONE agent is to be installed
After making the changes, select Transform -> Generate transform and save the .mst file to the previously shared folder. Indicate the path to the .mst file corresponding to the address of the Xopero ONE management console (parameter for the MSI installer).
Confirm the operation with the OK button.
At this point, the creation of the GPO policy responsible for the distribution and installation of the MSI Agent installer has been completed. To implement it on client computers of Active Directory services covered by the created policy, run the CMD tool and enter the command
After restarting the station, the Xopero ONE agent will be automatically installed with the parameter corresponding to the address of the management console.
