File-level backup recovery
In this article you will find out how to restore the data from a File-level backup. Xopero ONE allows you to easily restore the data - whole backup, single directories and even individual files - to any location. For this purpose, you can use the convenient interface Management Service. See how easy it is!
Opening the restore view
In the beginning, you have to open restore view. There are two ways to do it:
Open the Devices tab and select the Restore button next to the device whose data you want to restore.
After choosing the device that you want to restore, select the plan that included the data that you need to be recovered from the View available plans field.
On the very bottom of this view you will find information on which agent you are using to view the storage. You can change the device by clicking the Change button. Make sure that device used for this process can access the storage.
You can also open the Storages tab, select storage where the backup data is located, and click the folder icon to Browse storage.
After choosing the storage, an additional step is to select the device whose data you want to restore. Continue to select the Backup plan that you want and see information about the agent used to connect to the storage.
Selecting backup version
After choosing the right devices and backup plan the system will display the Backup copies section, where you can select the version of backup that you want to restore. Click on one of the displayed dates and then select the Restore button.
Selecting the data to restore
Select data to restore aside consists of a directories & files tree, where you can select each directory, as well as each file to restore by marking the checkbox. To restore the data choose the Restore selected button. Whether you want to restore everything that was included in the backup plan choose the Restore all button.
Restoring the data
After choosing one of the options available above Restore data aside will open, which is the last step to restore your data. Data to restore section gives you the possibility to change your previous configuration of data that will be included in the restore process. If you would like to change/add some data to the restore process click the Edit button.
Restore to section allows you to define the destination of the restore process, where you can select any device that is assigned to the Xopero ONE platform.
In the next step Restore directory, you can define the exact location of restore between the Original directory or a New directory.
At the end of Restore settings have three checkboxes with additional restore settings you can use:
Overwrite existing data - to decide whether you want to overwrite(or not) existing files in the restore directory,
Restore files permissions - to restore the original permissions of the files,
Reduce bandwidth - to reduce network usage during the restore process.
After configuring all preferred settings click on Start now button, which will run the restore process.
