Xopero ONE v2.0.0
🆕 NEW FEATURES
2FA
We’ve introduced two-factor authentication (2FA) in Xopero ONE and GitProtect to reinforce platform security and implement modern authentication best practices. Users can now authenticate using a one-time code generated by apps like Google Authenticator in addition to their password.
Currently available for password logins; SSO support will follow in a future release.
Apple M series processor support
With growing demand for support on Apple devices powered by M1/M2 processors, version 2.0.0 introduces full compatibility with Apple Silicon architecture.
This enhancement ensures seamless use of our agents on ARM-based Mac systems.
Login support from the MSP level
We’ve added foundational support for direct MSP partner access to customer environments — configurable as full or read-only access. This feature will be visible once Xopero ONE MSP update is officially released.
By default, access is disabled.
🔨 IMPROVEMENTS
Deduplication optimization
Major improvements to the deduplication engine for disk image and VMware backup workflows. The changes significantly reduce scanning overhead and improve comparison speed.
The deduplication data format has been updated. After upgrade, we recommend performing a deduplication cleanup. Further performance enhancements are planned for 2.0.5.
Onboarding: changes to defining the foreground for a resource
To streamline onboarding, we updated the first backup plan configuration step:
Removed the ability to close the wizard without configuration.
Default plans now inherit the time of creation to better distribute load.
Improved encryption/storage hints and UI labels.
Information about the worker in the task summary
Task summaries (e.g., Microsoft 365, Git) now display which worker device executed a task — especially useful in multi-agent environments.
Optimization of task handling
Significant backend optimization for handling simultaneous backup tasks across multiple environments, improving performance in large and dynamic infrastructures.
Microsoft 365 - added message preview log
Added Info-level logs for each message previewed during restore, improving auditability without changing existing functionality.
Additional logging for reading from SMB
Introduced detailed DEBUG-level logs for SMB restores:
Sync mechanism operations,
File names and sizes,
SMB protocol responses — aiding advanced troubleshooting.
Remote agent update
Checksum handling now supports:
Configurable time validity (15 min for SaaS / 45 min for on-prem),
Remote update support for DMZ devices, eliminating the need for manual checksum generation.
Cache support for iSCSI
Performance optimizations during disk image backup and VMware instant restore now include read caching for iSCSI — improving speed and efficiency.
NotConnected status improvements for tasks
We’ve improved behavior of tasks marked NotConnected, including:
No blocking of concurrent tasks,
Retry mechanism after 30 minutes,
Devices reconnecting will now queue appropriately, respecting task limits.
Increased limit of parallel SaaS tasks
Introduced internal control via environment variable to adjust parallel task limits for SaaS backups — enabling greater flexibility in large environments.
🐛 BUGFIXES
No copy on target storage after replication
Ensures target storage displays backup data post-replication.
Remote update for WS2008 and 2012
Improved clarity via informative message due to platform limitations — remote update remains unsupported.
Replication ignores schedule window
Respects defined time windows for replication execution.
SLA Statistics Reset
Now preserved after deleting plans or restarting services.
Manually running a plan with a backup window
